Paulette:
I'm going to assume you have a PC rather than a MAC.
Before you go online, use Windows File Manager (Click on FILE then
Create Directory: type in a name that you can remember - no more
than 8 characters: e.g.: FW1) - while you're at it make some more
the same way FW2, etc. These new directories should be where you
download a single file later, so that if there are many parts to the
unzipped file, they won't be mingled with other files (especially
important if you decide to delete the file and its components because
it was not what you expected.
Once online, say on my freeware page, if you use a mouse to point
at the file you want, and click on that file, a message should come up
in your browser asking you where you want to save the file. At that point,
you would type in C:\FW1 ... and wait for the file to be transferred.
When that process ends, you need to unzip the file if it has a .zip
extension. You will need wizunzip from my freeware page under
utilities to do this. In fact you can download it right to the same
directory, FW1.
Once you go back to the Windows Program manager and select FILE
then RUN, you can use the browse option to go to C:\FW1 and use
your mouse to click on WizUnZip and use that program to unzip
the first file you selected. You will probably have to read some of
the help files to get it to work...or you can experiment a bit.
Someone who has done this before would be the best choice to
walk you through one time. Good luck and keep trying til you
get it.
Best Regards, Bob Bowman
