Nationwide, the accountability movement is impacting teachers and administrators in powerful ways. It has been said that "the content of leadership is student learning." Teachers and administrators find themselves in need of high impact "tools" to assure that no child is left behind in the teaching and learning process.
This session will provide teachers and administrators with nine research based instructional strategies that have a high probability of enhancing student achievement for all students in all subject areas at all grade levels. These strategies will be introduced, modeled and practiced. Then participants will explore ways to bring these powerful strategies to the school house through supervision, job embedded learning and staff meetings to make a difference in classrooms and ultimately, student learning.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- examine critical ingredients that foster student learning
- explore myths about learning
- identify and practice nine research based instructional strategies that impact student achievement in all subjects/grade levels
- discuss ways to foster the routine use of high impact instructional strategies in classrooms
- plan personal next steps
