| I don't know if this rusted-out safe is still there alongside the road, but keep your eyes peeled along this stretch if you're up for the spectacular thrill of spotting a rusty safe. This picture shows its location in 2005; the safe was on its side and was closer to the road on the day of the 2006 race. So why is/was there a safe sitting off in the woods next to Ellerslie Road, you ask? I have no idea. (You'll sometimes see things like this by the sides of rural roads-- tires, car parts, furniture, washing machines, etc.) UPDATE: Alas, your race director saw no trace of the safe when he ran the course on 13 March 2008.
