2008 RACE RESULTS ARE UP!Thanks to all who participated in the 9th annual Rotary 5K & Kids Run on Saturday 29 March 2008! We had a record turnout, with 98 official 5K finishers and around ten or so in the kids run. The full 2008 5K race results are now up, in both overall and age group formats. Get in touch with results guy Karsten Brown if you spot any errors.

The race will take place at the Rotary Shelter, on the southern side of Jim Barnett Park in Winchester, VA. The park is approximately 20 miles north of Front Royal, 12 miles west of Berryville, 25 miles south of Martinsburg, WV, 36 miles west of Leesburg, and 80 miles west of Washington, DC. The 5K, which starts at 9:00 AM, follows a USATF-certified 5K (3.1 mile) loop through Jim Barnett Park and the campus of Shenandoah University, using paved roads and sidewalks. For more details, check out our course map page! The kids run, to be held once the 5K is over, follows an easy out-and-back route.
Awards will be given to the top three men and women overall, to the top three Masters runners (40 & over), and to the top three male and female runners in the following age groups: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, and 60 & over. All children in the kids run will receive medals!
To register, either print out a copy of our entry form and send it in, or just show up with your checkbook on race day! The entry fees for the 5K are $16.00 for members of the Shenandoah Valley Runners and $17.00 for non-members, whether you pre-register or sign up on race day. The fee for the kids quarter mile is $4.00. Pre-registration is not strictly necessary, but it's always appreciated. The first 100 registrants in the 5K will receive t-shirts!
The Rotary 5K is brought to you by the Winchester Rotary Club and the Shenandoah Valley Runners. Proceeds from the race will benefit Rotary Charities!
