COURSE MAP
The Rotary 5K starts and finishes near the Rotary Shelter and follows a clockwise loop around Jim Barnett Park and the grounds of Shenandoah University.

SURFACES: Two-thirds of the course uses paved roads, with about a mile of the course being run on sidewalks (due to traffic on Millwood Avenue and Pleasant Valley Road).

TOPOGRAPHY: The first mile is rolling, with one uphill coming shortly after the start and another on the S.U. campus. Starting at about 1½ miles is a mile-long slightly uphill grade along Pleasant Valley Avenue and continuing for a short way on Cork Street. The final half mile is a little rolling, with only a couple short hills.

PRINTABLE MAP: If you want to take a closer look at the map at right, you can download a large version in Adobe PDF format. (The PDF file is 395 KB in size.)

(Note: Elevation is exaggerated in the course profile above! Trust me, the course is not all that hard. So come run the race, won't ya?)
