There are three ways to sign up for the Greasy-Gooney 10K:

BY MAIL: It's now too late to register by mail. Please don't send any entry forms by mail at this point, because we won't get them before the race.

IN PERSON: Unless you happen to bump into the race director, it's also too late to give him your entry form in person. So that just leaves...

RACE DAY: Yes, race day entries are more than welcome! Race day registration will take place in Browntown between 7:45 AM and 8:45 AM. If you want to save yourself a few seconds at the registration table, feel free to print out an entry form, fill it out in advance, and bring it with you on race morning. Checks should be payable to "Karsten Brown". See the sidebar at right for links to entry forms in various formats.

(Note: There is no online registration this year. We tried to set it up but had difficulties with the site we planned to use, and in the end it was more trouble than it was worth. Sorry about that!)

Entry fees

Our base entry fees are $8 in advance or $10 on race day. Members of the Shenandoah Valley Runners may take a $2 discount (thus paying $6 early or $8 on race day), while members of other eligible Virginia, Maryland, and DC running clubs may take a $1 discount (thus paying $7 early or $9 on race day).

(Eligible clubs: Annapolis Striders, Baltimore Road Runners Club, Chesapeake Bay Running Club, DC Road Runners Club, Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club, Fredericksburg Area Running Club, Howard County Striders, Loudoun Road Runners Club, Montgomery County Road Runners Club, Potomac Valley Track Club, Reston Runners, Shenandoah Valley Track Club, South Riding Running Club, Tidal Basin Run, Virginia Happy Trails Running Club, Westminster Road Runners Club, 50 Plus Club)

Note: Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable (more info). One club discount per runner; discounts cannot be combined.

T-shirts

There will be no 2011 race shirts. Shirts always take a lot of time to design and a lot of money to order, and we decided to make things easier on ourselves this year by forgetting about shirts. Maybe we'll bring 'em back next year.

We do, however, have a small supply of leftover shirts from previous editions of the Greasy-Gooney 10K, and we'll be selling these on race day. First come, first served! Sizes and quantities are limited...

Dark blue performance fabric shirts from 2009 will be sold for $10 (we've got 12 mediums and 1 large); the hideous tomato red performance fabric shirts from 2008 are $5 (8 mediums, 8 larges); dark green cotton shirts from 2007 are $5 (11 smalls, 1 medium, 3 larges); and dark red cotton shirts from 2006 are $5 (only 2 larges left).
