"The service at Buddy's was excellent, Andrew, our Canadian waiter (loved the photos of his new baby, which he shared with us), and Charly, the Assistant Manager were curteous, friendly, avid to please, and went the extra mile to make sure we had a great time. Andrew, a newcomer to, was excellent, providing us with a relaxed atmosphere and helping us with choices in local cuisine. The ceviche was superb, as was the Yucatean Lime Soup which Remko, owner from Amsterdam, prepared for us, and the chips with fresh salsa that kept on coming, the ice cold beers, only to be surpassed by the yummy, lucious, intoxicating MANGO MARGARITAS! Progreso's people are friendly and busting with song and laughter, more important, respectful, once we settled to eat and enjoy the peacefulness, they made sure we were not disturbed. As we sat around our table, under the palm-roof, we were serenaded by local minstrels,..." - Cruise Critic Member, Cruise Critic Board, May 2005

"We set up at the beach which goes with Buddy's Bar & Restaurant. It is owned by a man from Amsterdam who took excellent care of us. There were eight in our group, we had a great table and umbrella on the beach with a wonderful waiter named Armando. Armando was the best, anything we needed he would get for us. We had chips & salsa and Tequila shots and small Coronas on the house. Then, we ordered buckets of regular size Coronas. Therewere four adults and four children in our group, there were beach chairs if you wanted to lay in the sun. The men parked their b***s at the table and the other Mom and I visited some of the local vendors across the street. This beach is about three blocks from where the free bus drops you off."- Cruise Critic Member, Cruise Critic Board, 2004
